This event was organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Hadath, and took place on the main street of Hadath that was closed to motorized vehicles. The theme of the event being promoting alternative means of transport; 100 bicycles were put at the disposal of the public free of charge. Campaign materials were disseminated and the documentary “On the Move Without Your Car” was shown in the local theatre. Moreover; six bicycle stands were set up on the entrances of local schools and in city squares. The event also featured a live simulation of car accident victim rescue by the Lebanese Red Cross and the Lebanese Civil Defense; and a presentation by YASA, an active Lebanese NGO that promoted road safety and accident prevention practices.
