About the Campaign

The sustainable transport campaign is organized by the Green Line Association to develop a National Land Transport Strategy (NLTS) for Lebanon, based on Transport Demand Management (TDM) principle. This campaign is the result of Green Line’s belief that the solution for the land transport dilemma in Lebanon is in reducing the number of circulating cars and not by the classical practice of increasing road capacity.
The campaign brings new ideas to the land transport sector in Lebanon by introducing the concept of Transport Demand Management (TDM), which is based on a more efficient management of the available land transport resources. Hence, TDM in Lebanon consists of reducing the total volume of traffic and promoting shifts into more sustainable modes of transport, such as public transport, walking and biking.

Green Line's scope of work throughout the campaign includes:
- Lobbying for a National Land Transport Strategy based on the Transport Demand Management.
- Raising awareness and improving public attitude towards the various modes of transport
- Providing consultancy regarding land transport management strategies.
