  • Organization of a three-day capacity building workshop on the Basic Approaches and Methods in Project Planning

  • The awareness campaign on the Lebanese Coast reaches a partial success when it was announced that the beach at Ramlet El-Baida will be open for the public, after being rehabilitated and equipped properly for the public. This is a partial success because the public beach is still built on a private land based on a special arrangement with the owning company, thus not making it a permanent public beach

  • Organization of a capacity building workshop on Eco-tourism planning and management practices

  • Starting the “Sea Turtles Conservation” project

  • Starting the “Solid Waste Management” campaign

  • Green Line hosts a Euro-Med exchange program entitled “The Forest in the Euro-Mediterranean Space: Lebanon Land of the Cedars”.  Forty five International participants from 9 countries: France , Spain , Italy , Germany , Greece , Tunisia , Egypt , Jordan attends this conference, in addition to the hosting country Lebanon (September 1-8).

  • A question-and-answer session, organized by Green Line, the World Health Organization and the Lebanese Ministry of Health, was held to mark the World Health Day. Elementary and intermediate school students, aged from 8 to 12, filled the 128 seats of the Parliament and asked the Ministers environmental questions with the following themes: water pollution, air pollution, industrial wastes, green areas, public beaches and safe food.

  • Green Line submits to the German Embassy a proposal for strengthening the production capacity of the Women's rural provision cooperative in Arsaal and funds are provided to the cooperative.

  • Training of Local Inspectors for organic farming: Twelve agricultural engineers representing the major active stakeholders were trained on the practical and theoretical inspection applications of the EC Regulation 2092/91 and its amendments ( July 8-16, 2003 )

  • Training course on quality management for certifying bodies: Four inspectors were trained, at GfRS Resource Protection Ltd. Offices in Goettingen , Germany , on quality management/assurance practices and procedures (ISO 65) and on evaluation of inspection reports ( December 3-10, 2003 )
