HISTORY:

In 1994, Green Line sparked the investigation of the illegal import of toxic waste during the years of civil unrest.

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

The campaign aimed at recovering and reshipping the hazardous wastes to its countries of origin.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Production of the first scientific document on this controversial issue and distributing it to all members of the parliament, government officials and the media

• As a direct result of the campaign, the parliament adopted all treaties governing the transboundary movement of hazardous waste, and their ratification by the Lebanese Government
